HAROLD LEFFERSTRA

Environmentalist and Climate Change Expert

Harold is an environmentalist and climate change expert and for the past 35 years has been helping frame global warming policies. He worked with the Norwegian Environmental Agency, an institution that is part of the Ministry of Climate and Environment. He is an environmental adviser in the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and adviser of the Inter-governmental panel on climate change (IPCC). His tasks have covered industrial pollution, waste handling, aquaculture and in the last 15 years, climate change causes, effects and mitigation. Harold is involved in several NGOs on protection of nature and sustainable development. He contributed to two books on environmentally friendly fish farming. Harold speaks Norwegian(native), Dutch, English, Spanish, French and holds a master’s degree in forestry and renewable energy.
